JEFFREY TUVLIN, MD

I
n just over a decade of living in Louisville, Dr. Jeff Tuvlin has
made a positive and tangible difference in the communities
where he has devoted himself. As a Louisville gastroenterologist, he founded the Center for Gastrointestinal Health, and as
a member of the Jewish Community of Louisville (JCL), he has
raised the bar for engagement and helped put Louisville on the
map at a national level. Yet he still finds time to be a devoted husband and father of three boys.
Growing up in Atlanta, Dr. Tuvlin was the youngest of three siblings. His mother, Rita, worked as a science teacher at his elementary school, and instilled a love of discovery in him from an early
age. “My elementary school was pretty small. We had one science
teacher and she was it, so I had her in class every year,” Dr. Tuvlin
recalled. “Through that, I was very influenced towards science, but
not necessarily into medicine.”
