EUGENE CONNER, MD 1921-2016

ugene Hayward Conner, MD, passed away Sunday, January
3, 2016.
Dr. Conner was born December 2, 1921, in Baltimore,
Maryland, to James M. and Mary Fader Conner. He graduated from
the University of Maryland School of Medicine in June 1945. He
married the love of his life, Mary Louise Brown Kieffer, in 1946.
They had four children, Janice, Jeffrey, Marcia and Melissa, and ten
grandchildren. Dr. Conner came to Louisville in 1957 to assume the
Chair of Anesthesiology at the University of Louisville. He served
in the U.S. Army Air Force Medical Corps during World War II
and taught at the University of Pen
