LM (continued on page 30) Brazeiros RESTAURANT REVIEW Continued selection at the salad bar, three sides dishes, bread, and endless parade of all kinds of roasted meats, the price is reasonable when one takes into account that some or most of the other steakhouses in the city charge extra for side dishes and salads. Healthy competition is good for businesses and we will continue to be patrons of other steakhouses including Jeff Ruby’s, Eddie Merlot’s, Ruth’s Chris and Z’s Oyster Bar, not only for their wonderful steaks but delectable choices in seafood as well. Business First published an article in October 2013 stating that two, not just one, Brazilian steakhouses were planned to open in the same area in 2014 before Derby; Brazeiros is already open and the second one (Boi na Braza) is yet to open. Things have dramatically changed in the last three decades in Louisville when we moved here from Chicago, and we have seen Louisville’s transformation into one of the most coveted places in the United States for “Foodies” and culinary delights, both in quality “chain” restaurants and the fabulous growth of interesting independent restaurants, although we strongly believe that an authentic full-menu Greek restaurant is desperately needed in our fine city. Brazeiros is a place that will satisfy both the vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, but the best advice is to show up purposefully ravenous! This unique dining experience is worth exploring. We visited our first Churrascaria in Beverly Hills when we ate at Fogo de Chao near Cedars Sinai Medical Center. We have since also visited Texas de Brazil or Fogo de Chao in Chicago, Tampa and Las Vegas. We are very pleased to have the pleasure of dining at Brazerios in Louisville. They are open for lunch and dinner and take reservations. L M Note: Dr. Seyal practices Cardiovascular Diseases with Floyd Memorial Medical Group-River Cities Cardiology. August 2014 29
