Celebrate Bruce Scott, MD,
Presidency

T
he Greater Louisville Medical Society kicked off the 20142015 presidency of Bruce Scott, MD, with a celebration at
the Historic Louisville Water Tower on June 1. Catered by
Louisville’s The Bristol and featuring bourbon tasting hosted by
the Kentucky Distiller’s Association, the Presidents’ Celebration
brought GLMS members and family together for an evening of
looking forward and celebrating the past.

The recently renovated 153-year old water tower provided the
perfect locale for the event. Guests toured the self-guided museum
presenting water’s evolution in Louisville while others mingled
outside for an up close and personal view of the Ohio River.
In addition to Dr. Scott’s installation as president, outgoing President James Patrick Murphy, MD, MMM, celebrated the medical
society’s accomplishments during his term and Louisville Medicine
Editor Mary G. Barry announced the winners of the annual Richard
Spear, MD, Memorial Essay Contest. LM
