Young Achievers
The Young Achievers program begins with each homeroom
teacher in both the Loudon County and Lenoir City school
systems selecting a student that exhibits a dedication for
learning and is involved in their community. Out of this group,
20 grade-level winners are chosen and the four Finalists are
selected from the group of grade-level winners. Finalists from
5-6 and 7-8 grade levels are submitted to the International
Leadership Network and can be winners at a national level.
Outstanding Teacher Awards
New and experienced teachers receive outstanding teacher
awards, which encourages them to remain in the profession.
Annual Essay Contest
Students in grades 3-8 can participate in this contest that
helps prepare them for their annual writing assignment.
Encouraging Excellence
in Education Awards Celebration
Attended by more than 1,200 students, teachers, parents
and community members, this event honors our Young
Achievers, Essay Contest winners and Outstanding Teachers
with a reception and awards ceremony.
Banking on Education
This annual event provides the community the opportunity
to help support our school systems by funding much needed
16
classroom school supplies.
Great Idea! Grants
Funds raised in the community support our Great Idea!
Classroom grants. All teachers in both school systems have
the opportunity to request funds for classroom projects that
emphasize state curriculum in ways that engage students to
learn. This program provides funds to teachers for projects
that are outside the school budget.
Scholarships
Scholarship funds are made available through an
application process to seniors from Greenback High School,
Loudon High School and Lenoir City High School.
Leadership Loudon County
The county’s only community-based leadership program. It
was created in 1999 to educate and develop current and future
leaders. The sessions include tours of several local industries,
businesses, tourist attractions and government agencies, plus
a visit to Nashville to observe state government in action.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
LCEF is the host organization responsible for fund raising
for the Imagination Library in Loudon County. Books are
provided to Loudon County Students ages 0-5 at no charge to
the families. LCEF partners with United Way, Good Neighbors
