NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2015
Tell us about growing up as a jewelers
daughter and at what age did you begin
to become hands on with this experience?
From age 5 or so, I had my hands in
the pot, so to speak. My job as a little
girl was to untangle the chains in the
melt down box. I can still untangle a
knotted chain with my eyes closed.
What’s next for the line and where do
you plan to take your brand in fashion? I have an upcoming collection,
Southwest inspired, that I designed
while on a road trip cross country
from New York to Las Vegas. I’m
thinking of calling it Manifest Destiny - since I felt compelled to my
destiny back west in Nevada. I recently bought all of my own casting
equipment and currently, I am building a shop and pop-up showroom
adjacent to my parents store in Las
Vegas. For the holidays, I will host
other local designers - friends and
peers - in that space along with
my jewelry line. I plan to keep that
space running into next year, growing, building, casting, doing my own
manufacturing as well as manufacturing for other designers. Budding
Designers, Call me. I’ll be happy
to be your manufacturer. Also, my
dream of creating custom fine jewelry for clients is starting to come to
fruition and I hope to spend the rest
of my life creating beautiful, meaningful fine jewelry pieces for people
to treasure and pass down from
generation to generation.
