Summer tips & tricks
How to use bronzer without overdoing it
So, you’ve just come out of the winter and spring periods. We all get a little pasty this time of year!
But, start your summer with a light bronzing the right way without overdoing it straight away. A tad too
much of a heavy hand or getting too generous with the product could result in looking muddy or even
orange. A cream based bronzer is always a good start because you can add it in with your moisturizer
to thin it out and start lightly. For powder bronzers, try to choose ones that do not have many reflecting
agents in it or too much sparkle, it just comes off looking unrealistic and glittery and quite reflective if
you are taking any photos. A great recommendation for bronzer is Becca shimmering skin perfector

Highlighting
Thanks to the Kardashian clan, the world has gone crazy about contouring! The makeup artists of the
world have been highlighting and contouring for a very long time, so it’s definitely not a new technique.
What we would love to focus on more is making skin look real on clients, makeup artists, models, and
OURSELVES. we just want to focus on beautiful skin and really bringing out the beautiful features
of our faces. As with bronzing, there are many products on the market that you can use to achieve this
look. My absolute favorite would have to be strobe cream from MAC Cosmetics. Along with Laura
Mercier illuminating tinted moisturizer. You can get away without using any foundation and use this
product alone. You want to highlight where light hits beautifully without making your skin look oily. So
highlight the top of your nose, the high points of your cheekbones, your cupids bow (top lip points) and
ever so lightly the brow bone. Do not use anything shimmery on the brow bone as then you are taking
away the natural beauty of this look. For powder options of highlighting, there are a few favorites of
mine.

Put away everything that was drab for winter and bring out your punchy colors for summer! Put shimmer washes on your eyes to highlight them rather than heavy looks. This is where you can bring in
that little bit of sparkle that we have talked about removing from your bronzer. Even be colorful with a
different color mascara like blue, green or even purple! And with lips, put away your lipsticks and bring
out your bright lip stains or tinted balms. There is nothing more beautiful than a soft glow on the skin
and highlighted eyes and lips.
