PHOTOGRAPHY BY : FLOYD RAYMOND 1) Who is ULORIN VEX? I’m a British model and illustrator currently living in LA, specialising in avant-garde fashion and creative work 2) Did you invest in modeling at any point in your career? In terms of time and effort and wardrobe, yes 3) Now living in Los Angeles do you miss being home in the UK? Not really, I travel back to the UK once or twice a year and usually for a couple of months at a time. I love travelling! 4) Where in the UK are you from exactly? Newcastle-Upon-Tyne 5) What is Art to you? Self-expression 6) Did there ever come at time where you felt you couldn’t do this full time? No, I’ve been doing this full time since latex 2008 (after doing it part-time/as a hobby since 2004) and if anything the past couple of years have confirmed for me it was the right thing to do. 7) Who inspired you to become a model? There wasn’t any person in particular, I just decided I wanted to do it to express myself creatively 8) Did you ever think of giving up on modeling? Never 9) What’s on your plate for 2014? I’m going to be travelling a lot more again. I already have plans for tours of the east coast, Europe and Asia. 10) Did you ever think in your wildest dreams you would make it this far? Not really. I’m still very excited and grateful for all the success I’ve found 11) What motivates you? The cost of living in Los Angeles. haha ;p 12) Are you a self taught artist or did you attend school? I’m totally self-taught. Sometimes I wish that I’d gone to art school but I actually went to school for science (I have a BSc hons degree in Biology) 13) What would be your dream shoot? (Location, wardrobe, hair stylist, makeup artist and photographer?) Probably either Ellen Von Unwerth, Erwin Olaf or David LaChapelle with some amazing haute-couture from the likes of McQueen. I think I’ve been spoilt with regards to things like locations really, I’ve shot all over the world in some of the most amazing places. It’s hard to think of something new. I’m sure there are many amazing places I don’t even know exist. 14) How many fashion and or art magazines have you featured in? I really have no idea off the top of my head, it’s a pretty large number. I have them all listed on my website 15) What is the most you have been paid as a model? I don’t really like to discuss things like that publicly! 16) What is your favorite shoot of your career thus far? I hate picking favourites! Honestly, I’ve done so many wonderful and amazing jobs it would be impossible for me to even narrow it down to a top 5. 17) Who is you favorite model? See previous answer! Right now I’m really loving the work of a model I only know as Kelly (glutenfree kelly on instagram) 18) How long have you been an artist? I’ve been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember but only really started to pursue it fully the past few years since I started modelling full time, which gave me more free time to work on my art 19) Who is you favorite Artist? I couldn’t possibly pick one. I have a huge list of widely different artists whose work I love. From classic illustrators like Aubrey Beardsley and Harry Clarke to modern tattoo and lowbrow artists. 20) What would you say to aspiring model’s? Personally I think it’s important to try and find your own style and do something different. I see too many new models recently who are obviously just imitating what they have seen ot \
