Ladies and gentlemen, the moment you've been waiting for, the pride of the universe, DOCTOR MYSTERIO!!!
He's back again after a long hiatus of mourning. Apparently, Time Lords need a long time to heal from pain...coughs...like that 100 year mourning of Amy and Rory, and that time he went on a rampage after Rose's death. But that's a different story for another day.
The Christmas special was sweet, cute, and lovable for all families to enjoy. The reviews for this Special. however. was much more harsh than it should have really been. I mean, I can be a hard core Doctor Who fan on my best of days, but chill guys. It's the holidays! We don't ALWAYS have to have such drama in the show. Look, the Special was more aimed at kids than anything else. It gave them a taste of American heroism that we always portray and enticed them to watch more of the show if this was their first time.
Now look, I understand if you don't like the side characters or the romance, but to be honest, this episode was meant to be lighthearted and comedic. We don't always need explosions or complicated story lines in every Christmas Special. You should know that based on countless other Christmas Specials. If you thought it was cringe worthy, then congratulations, you don't have any humor. The whole point of this episode was to make everybody smile and enjoy the small moments of awesomeness it contained.
Let's not have Doctor Who fans bad mouth it and blame Moffat for writing "yet another terrible episode." I'm sorry but it's not really that terrible. Put aside what you want in the special and just enjoy it like a Christmas Special! If you don't understand, then go and grab your child or cousin or niece and nephew, and have them watch it. Then tell me what they thought about it and why.
