Something for the 4 legged friends in your life!

We love our moms & dads, brothers & sisters (sometimes), aunts & uncles, cousins, and on rare occasions, that ‘ride or die’ friend; but what about our furry friends? Oh sure!, we love ‘em when we first adopt ‘em, but what about after the first six months or year? Our four-legged friends become just a part of our daily routine. Shame, shame, shame!

They start out as our babies and then they become our pets and then they become our companions. Regardless of how old our furry friends get, they still need attention, love, play-time, and cuddle-time with us.

You nurture and care for your children from birth. You wouldn’t care for them until they are seven years old and then ignore them; don’t ignore your furry companion.

Cats and dogs can be trained. Yes I said CATS can be trained! It takes a little extra effort and patience to train a cat: more than with a dog – but it can be done. The only things needed, to train your cat, are patience and a calm, even soft voice.

Pets are like little children; they want to taste whatever you’re eating. Although your pet likes what you let them taste, that is no indication that you should feed a pet human food. Don’t treat your dog or cat like a garbage disposal. You wouldn’t feed your children scraps, think of your pets as your children.

Listen to your pets, and get use to its’ different sounds. If it doesn’t feel well, or is hungry, or in the case of my cat, Loki (LoKey), he lets me know when he needs fresh water and when he uses his liter box so I can clean it immediately. People tease me that I have a ‘boujgie’ cat. Well let me tell you, when a stranger comes in my house, he checks them out. If they person isn’t ‘right’ Loki hisses at them to let me know. If something is going on outside in the middle of the night, he wakes me up. If I or one of the kids is under the weather, Loki stays by whoever is sick; his presence is soothing for what ails us.

Whether you have a dog or cat, if you take care of them they WILL take care of you!
