Unlike myself I have many single independent career driven friends with no time to take a self-defense class, who live alone, who leave home early in the mornings and cross dark parking lots at night. Not to mention nights out on the town alone or with a friend. Some of these friends think that pepper spray, pocket knives, whistles or ‘Big Pookie’ on speed dial is enough but I can tell you being a native of Detroit Michigan and loving Cleveland for the past 10 years I've seen my share of situations that if someone had just one more option to protect themselves or one more way of thinking it could have saved their life.
Here are just a few tips for deterring a predator from choosing you as their next victim. These are some of the body language projection and interpretation techniques that I practice religiously to keep from being a victim of today's crazy world. As a former bodyguard of threat management centers in Detroit Michigan I've acquired a lot of imperative information to create a better quality of life for my family and those around me so listen up Cleveland let's put our safety first!
#1 We wear our heels, as a powerful women we should ,but remember to always walk with a purpose on and off the Runway, heels or no heels. this projects to predators and possible aggressors that you have somewhere to be. It shows them that someone is expecting you at a secondary location and you will be missed.
#2Make sure that you're paying attention to your surroundings and actually taking in information. Aggressors can actually tell if you are paying attention to detail or if you're just swinging your head left and right. This could help you recognize that you maybe being followed , at which point you will make three consecutive right turns. If you are being followed after three consecutive right turns proceed to your nearest police station.
#3 Ladies remember, too much eye contact can create unwanted attention. On the other hand too little eye contact can let your Predator know that you would not be able to identify him in a lineup.
