PAGE 18 |THE END, BUT JUST THE BEGINNING
LAST CALL
I wrote a portfolio for my English class just
recently, I finished with the mark I intended to
get. However, it wasn't easy to get there -
because you see, I probably didn't write 'normal'
pieces [by English class standards] it took me
some time, to explain to my teachers the
reasoning behind my words, the intent behind
the works I had created - and once I did that,
they understood the beauty [arguably] that was
within those pieces.
In life, in love, in industry - daily. You will be
misunderstood if you're outside the norm, don't
shy away at that and don't be frustrated. Take
the time to explain your intent and reasoning -
once you do that, odds are 99.9% of humans will
accept you, the others - it is their loss.
I promise you, with all my heart that you are
seen, you are heard and you are accepted - and
if you don't feel like you are, then work to break
down the barriers around you. Take action, I am
here to help you in that.
There are many people I could dedicate this to,
and I thank each and every person who I call a
friend or whose circle I 'roll' in. But, I think I'll
dedicate this to Bryan Anderson because I still
have no real idea what you do in a day [because
you do a lot of things] but whatever it is, you
are always willing to help me in small ways that
make me believe in what I am doing. For that, I
am grateful.
One final note, a PSA: that one day, I will make
one of these into a print magazine, because
print journalism + art that is raw and unbiased,
that is not dead.
