The voice of Jazz

2

Louis Armstrong

On Saturday June 3 Louis Armstrong played in the “Smoke” jazz club in New York City. His performance was incredible! His trumpet playing was amazing this talent is unmatched by any other performer. Along with his musical ability he is also a great singer during his song “savoy blues” Armstrong hits a new genre of music this being the blues. He a charismatic and passionate artist who shows the real ability and love of music.

Picture a packed side street, a small corner bar is hopping this time of night. As you enter the heat is extreme but the life of the party keeps you in the claustrophobic atmosphere. You don’t have to wait long before a waitress serves you a drink (cold diet coke) and the struggles of the day unfold. The lights dim and the man Louis Armstrong himself steps out on to a small corner stage. Without and introduction he picks up this instrument and begins to belt a complicated string of notes that make one feel like dancing.

The music lasts for song after song, and the crowed is just drinking in the site of this larger then life charter. This is a must see event, you don’t know jazz music until you have seen Louis Armstrong in real life.

Above Louis Armstong playes his new hit songs.
