Christmas Photographs
Family history told through
various sofas, hairstyles,
decorated pine trees;
children changing heights
to stand beside Santa in
different stores and towns;
one where, laughing, we all
strum inflatable guitars
brought home from Memphis.
One where, on the day,
I could not see that my mother
already looked like a ghost.
