[ LONG BEACH JEWISH LIFE | Issue 08 ]

PUBLISHER'S NOTE

I'm very pleased to bring you the first High Holy Days issue of Long Beach Jewish Life. As this is a special time of year for Jews, we have departed from our usual format in order to bring you some very special content.

Our issue begins with Rosh Hashanah greetings from you and your neighbors throughout our community. I'm sure that you'll spot some names that you know!

I am also very proud to present Through a Mussar Lens: Spiritual Ascendance Through Teshuvah, an especially thoughtful piece for this season,

this season, written by noted author and the Founder and Dean of the Mussar Institute, Alan Morinis.

You will also find a collection of thoughts and musings on the High Holy Days written by each of the rabbis in our community. I am extremely grateful to our rabbis who took time during their busy season to craft these pieces. I hope you find them to be as special and thought-provoking as I have.

And, in case you are looking for a particular High Holy Day service, we have included a detailed listing of all of the High Holy Day services taking place throughout our community.

Thank you again for your loyal readership. Each month since our launch, I have watched the ranks of our readers continue to grow. I have never taken this phenomenon for granted, and I remain deeply committed to producing a magazine that you will continue to recommend to your neighbors, friends, and family.

Finally, I'd like to wish each of you a happy, healthy and peaceful new year.

L'Shanah Tovah!
