an advantage and an opportunity. She explains, “By definition, each movement has its limitations. Synagogues need to be better at listening to the needs of our community. In coming to Congregation Shir Chadash, I’m looking forward to shining a light on the question of ‘How do I choose to express Judaism?’. That's why one of the first things that we'll be doing is drafting a mission and vision statement for our congregation, so that we can arrive at a unified vision of who we are and who we want to be. And then, we can move forward together as a congregation.”

Rabbi Mariana Gindlin may indeed be the poster child for change. And that may be a very good thing.
