Workshop student and a teacher in a San
Fernando Valley high school, Lisa Kassner,
enjoys a chat with Gerda Seifer at the
reception for those who attended the
Teachers Training workshop on the
Holocaust the week of July 1 4-1 8 at CSULB.
The workshop , which provides regional
high school teachers with information
about the historical context and major
events of the Holocaust and other
genocides throughout the world was
initiated by a generous contribution from
Gerda and Dr. Harold Seifer in honor of Mrs.
Seifer's parents who perished in the
Holocaust.
Eva Schlesinger, r.,accompanied by her
daughter, Veronica Schweitzer. enjoyed
the reception at the completion of the
one-week Eva and Eugene Schlesinger
Teacher Training Endowed Workshops
held at Cal State University Long Beach
each summer attracting teachers from
all over this region of Southern
California. This was the fifth year of the
important program sponsored by the
Jewish Studies Program and the History
Departments at CSULB.
