In 1945, the Jewish Federation asked a group of local women if they could help resettle immigrants arriving from Europe.
Just one year later, seeing that they could contribute still more to help their community grow and develop, this same group of women organized and formalized as the National Council of Jewish Women Long Beach Section. Since their founding seventy years ago, our local chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) has found numerous ways to make a difference in our community through their integrated program of education, community service, social action and advocacy.
While the NCJW Long Beach Section may be well-known for the thousands of Hug Packs they have been putting together and distributing to foster children in our community over the past 13 years,
