Croydon and Surrey Message from the Chair We hope you’re all enjoying the summer so far – over the next few weeks your Area Panel will be out and about supporting focus days in your local area. Your views are very important to us - we use the feedback we collect at these events to ensure we are delivering excellent services. We’ll be offering help to sign up for MyAccount, giving advice on jobs and training and also the welfare reform. We hope to meet lots of you there! Gardening project We’re looking for volunteers to help our Dagmar Road allotment continue to blossom. We’re looking for people who can spare some time to support local residents in planting and maintaining vegetables and other produce. The garden and allotment in Croydon was officially opened in Autumn 2013. If you can help please call our Community Development Team on 0800 121 60 60. Rosie Ley Chair of Croydon and Surrey Area Panel Refurbishing community space AmicusHorizon staff, suppliers and contractors have come together to help refurbish an empty commercial unit in Whytecliffe Road South, Purley. The empty space has been transformed into a community centre. Staff and contractors have donated time, materials and money to deliver the project. It’s due to open in July. We’ll be consulting with residents as to what they’d like to see in the centre – watch this space! 8 News&Views | www.amicushorizon.org.uk
