He is still on the tools so is still very much hands on . His company has won several awards for their outstanding craftsmanship and end product including Extension of the Year in 2010 and Bathroom of the Year in 2015 . He hosts his own weekly podcast called Build : It , and writes for national press and property magazines .
Allan Corfield Design Expert , Homebuilding & Renovating Allan is a RIBA Chartered Architect and has overseen the design of over 450 low energy homes across the UK . Since 2009 Allan has grown his specialist Custom & Self Build Architecture practice - AC Architects to a team of 20 . Recently he created AC Structures , a leading engineering business , providing engineering support for all of ACA ’ s clients .
David Gallagher Structural Engineer , AC Structures David is Technical Director at AC Structures , a leading UK firm specialising in self-build projects . With extensive experience in the UK , Middle East , and New Zealand , he has worked on diverse projects from house extensions to Passivhaus research centers and A-listed hotel conversions . Co-founding ACS with Allan Corfield in 2021 , David aims to offer comprehensive architectural and engineering design services .
David Hilton Eco Expert , Homebuilding & Renovating David has grown up with energy efficient design , heating systems and renewables as his family had a business in South Africa manufacturing Solar systems and Air source heat pumps from 1979 . He was involved with the design , installation and optimisation of systems as well as the development of new products and building integration methods .
Julia Kendell Interior Design Expert , Kendell + Co With over 30 years ’ experience as an interior design professional , property renovator and kitchen specialist , Julia specialises in interior transformations that uplift and energise to have a positive impact on wellbeing . Julia is best known as the interior designer on BBC1 ’ s hugely popular DIY SOS , and is also a regular on ITV1 ’ s 60 Minute Makeover series and ITV ’ s “ Rebuild Our Home ”. She has made regular contributions to ‘ GMTV ’, ‘ This Morning ’, ‘ Live with Gabby ’, ‘ BBC Breakfast ’ and the ‘ Alan Titchmarsh Show ’.
Mark Stevenson Self Build Expert Mark is one of the UK ’ s premier self-build experts . Vice Chair of the Structural Timber Association , he has built several houses for himself and has many years experience working on housing developments .
