Return of optimism .
Nevertheless , the promise held by the successful rollout of a Covid-19 vaccination programme and the easing of lockdown have combined to bring hope back to the capital ’ s streets .
Central London bars have been filling up outside , after trade resumed earlier this year . Restaurants are hiring again and neighbourhoods from Acton in the west to Brixton in the south and Kentish Town in the north are recovering some bustle .
Another positive trend from the crisis has been a surge in new businesses . In the UK alone , more than 400,000 start-ups were formed in 2020 .
People are also tired of working from home . They are missing office and city-centre life , and the opportunity to collaborate with and just see their friends in the office , to get their hair cut , to go and get a good coffee at lunchtime , and to do all the life enriching things you can do in a city centre , including indulging in adult experiences .
And there are other encouraging signs for adult sex workers , including the return of demand in the hotel industry . By the end of 2022 , the forecast is that revenue per available room ( RevPAR ) in London will return to between 43 % and 86 % of pre-pandemic levels . In the regions , this figure is higher with the forecast between 64 % and 100 % of pre-pandemic levels .
