His Powerful Grace Opened My Eyes

do. The guest speaker spoke to us about
how everyone puts his or her hope in something, whether it’s short term or long term.
And I knew that God was calling me out
again to put my hope in him.
During the last night of worship, just
watching the older brothers and sisters
passionately worship gave me a new sense
of hope and got me feeling excited to see
what God would do in MFX.
Although I still felt exhausted from going
through the routine of falling away and returning from God, the sermons about how

God is a hope like no other, reminded me
again that he still pursues me no matter how
many times I’ve fallen away.
This past retreat has reminded me how
powerful his grace is and how it constantly
performs miracles even in our shortcomings.
My experiences at retreat also reminded
me that he always has a plan for us, no matter what season we’re in. As he re-teaches
me things and teaches me new things in
this season, I’m excited to return to retreat in
a deeper and more intimate place with him.

As a new member of MFX, I was hesitant
about attending the summer retreat. But on
top of being a new member, I was burnt out
from being active in the youth ministry and
I felt lost in my walk with God.
I would scrape up the little bits of him that
I had to get myself to worship. But, I prayed
for God to reignite that fire that I had once
had and for him to reteach me who he is in
a brand new way in this brand new ministry.
And he delivered. At retreat, God opened
up my eyes to become more aware of how
much he has done and how much he will

Getting Closer to God

It was my first retreat with MFX, and I
tried to go into the retreat with no expectations. It was a little different than other
retreats that I have been on in that the
first night was time to just relax and get to
