During the S1 induction week we interviewed Jordan Little (from Hoddam), Andrew Robson (from Lochmaben) and Alistair MacPherson (from Lockerbie) to see what their thoughts were so far.

On their first day they received a talk from Mr Herbert. He talked about a the new S1s being a "blank piece of paper" and explained that by the end of their time at Lockerbie it would no longer be blank. The boys thought it was "not bad" and that it made them think about what they could do at Lockerbie Academy.

We asked the boys about what they had enjoyed the most in their first two days. So far, they all enjoyed Chemistry and liked History with Mr Reville. However, none of them seemed to be too sure about Geography.

All the boys have a good registration class and got on with everyone in it. They also started with people they already knew so they got on well. They were pleased that none of them had got lost and that the S6 buddies were very good and and helpful.

The food at the canteen is a favourite of the boys; sausage rolls seem to be best. The food has been described as the best thing about the Academy as well as long walks to class.

Andrew told us that he thinks the school busses are very convenient and bus drivers are very nice. The boys all take the bus and have had no hassle with other pupils.

So far all of the boys like theacademy better than the primary and look forward to next year.
