UNIDO in South Africa is currently contracted to the Department of Trade and Industry ( the DTi ) to implement a series of tools and initiatives to align local suppliers with buyer networks in support of government localisation policies . The tools include supplier profiling , benchmarking , supplier capacity building and matchmaking .
The UNIDO SPX Key Programme objectives
Supplier Profiling
A catalogue of locally produced products and production capabilities of South African manufacturing suppliers to assist in matchmaking .
Benchmarking
SPX Benchmarking compares the operational performance of a company and practices against those of other companies in the same industry .
Supplier Capacity Building
SPX capacity-building supports the suppliers to meet the contract requirements through linking them to technology and development support partners .
Matchmaking
The SPX Centre identify specific opportunities and assist in matching buyers with relevant potential suppliers .
