Mozi opposed unjust wars and held a positive attitude towards just wars to eliminate unjust wars . Mozi classified the nature of war according to the standard of " justice ", and the justice of war depended on whether it was for the welfare of the people . Mozi believed that a great power attacking a small country or attacking an innocent country without reason belongs to the category of unjust wars , while wars to suppress a tyrant or to support a weak and small country to resist aggression as just wars .
