Tamat is an NGO certified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the head office in Perugia and with two operational offices in Marche and Lazio regions. It is operative since 1995; it works in particular on the field of development cooperation.
Tamat is involved mainly in the social research, aimed at the needs identification and thus the development of local development plans, through the implementation of bottom-up approach in the LDCs, in EU and local level too( targeting the disadvantaged groups as women, immigrants and youngsters), enhancing the life conditions of the targeted populations. Within the International Cooperation and the Decentralized Cooperation Tamat supports the identification and implementation of bottom-up developed projects aiming at reducing poverty, enhancing the life conditions of the beneficiary populations in Burkina Faso, Mali, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Latin America. Moreover, Tamat aims to stimulate at local and national level new approaches through development education and awareness campaigns, through the commitment on the themes typical of cooperation to the development, as it believes that it could only obtain a real change in this part of the world with the Education to Sustainable Development.
