Before that, it is still important to educate the potential members of the solidarity group, giving them all the information on the functioning of the group. A competent person carried out the education, trying to motivate members to activate themselves in the group. In addition, it ispreferable to arrange immediately a market with an info point, where all those interested can get all the information and contacts needed to participate.
From the beginning, as part of educational activities, it is necessary to animate those interested in order for them to become active and to include them in the group ' s work. It ispreferable to find 2-3 persons among the most active members of the group and charge them for the management of the group. At this stage, it is important to give the group some tutors with experience in the field( administrators of other solidarity groups), which will follow the development of the group and will link the local ecological producers( if any) to the work of the solidarity group.
Strategy and criteria used to identify and locate suppliers
Having analysed in detail, even in this case, the ESG( Ecological Solidarity Groups) present on the territory of Istria, has emerged as set out below. The strategy and the criteria used to identify producers: the producers were chosen among the ecological and local ones that will become part of the process of formation of the producers who are members of the ESG.
The producers of the ESG must comply with the following rules:
● Its products goes primarily for the ESG, and surpluses are placed on the ESM- Ecological Solidarity Market. The qualitative products are offered in the ESG, without calculating the market price, according to the production plan that was previously granted.
● It is a certified organic farmer or a producer in the transition period, that on the market or at the meetings of the Group represents itself, its production and its products. In the event that there is no producer with ecological certificate for a specific product, will be chosen one who fulfils the criteria of production according to ecological principles and who accepts the purposes and the principles of work of the ESG.
