In the most recent Leiden Ranking( 2015), the Faculty( inclusive of social sciences) was ranked 34th in the UK, 102nd in Europe and 234th in the World for its research excellence based on citations.
Plymouth Business School( PBS) resides in the Faculty of Business and is home to approximately 110 academic staff. It has developed as a centre of excellence of innovative and transformative business education with a market-leading, flexible and entrepreneurial portfolio of values-based business and management programmes and extra-curricular learning opportunities. Thus, PBS enhances especially graduate students who are entrepreneurially minded; expert at research and analytics; self-confident and willing to challenge convention and to ask‘ big questions’; informed about sustainability; globally aware and competent; able to continuously adapt, learn and to become digitally competent and as future global leaders to understand the importance of ethical human behaviours.
The School is home to the Futures Entrepreneurship Centre, which is embedding entrepreneurship across the curriculum, offering support for business start-up and providing valuable outreach activity and networks into the regional community. In addition, PBS recently launched the Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy. This Centre develops a new portfolio in the field of philanthropy and fundraising, leading fundraising policy and practice nationally and internationally.
