Marquette Companies unveiled their new apartment tower, Catalyst Houston, in
a party that drew 700 people in a span of two nights. Guests enjoyed incredible
views of the city, a social showcase spotlighting several of the best dining options
Downtown has to offer, music by DJ Matt Murdock and even aerial performers
gliding down from the 28th story. The event ended with a display of fireworks from
the adjacent Minute Maid Park. The Stages Repertory Theatre rang in its 40th anniversary at its gala, Off the
Ball: A Stages Cinderella Story. The event was incredibly successful, raising a
record-breaking amount of more than $440,00 for the theatre’s full range of
artistic and education programs. Guests had fun with attire and donned different
interpretations of the gala’s Cinderella theme that encompassed everything from
edgy to classic. Amidst the whimsical and fantasy-themed décor, guests danced
to the sounds of the Taylor Pace Orchestra at the end of the night. Trees for Houston held its 24th annual Root Ball garnering a crowd of 400
to fundraise for the organization’s mission to plant, protect and promote trees
throughout the Greater Houston area. Actress Jessica St. Clair emceed the event
and entertained the crowd with her clever commentary, and Houston’s Klockwork
Band provided music for guests to dance the night away. At the end of the night,
guests were gifted oak tree seedlings from the beautiful, historic, 400-year-old live
oak trees at Beck’s Prime on Westheimer and Augusta. 250 guests gathered at The Houstonian Hotel to support Houston Hospice’s
Butterfly Program and its mission to provide compassionate end of life care for its
patients and their families. Jan Carson emceed the event and stressed the value
of the funds being raised to help children. The event also invited The New York
Times best-selling author Amy Dickinson to read from her memoir detailing her
experiences with family, life and grief, rousing a large round of applause from the
crowd. The event was a huge success, raising $250,000 for the Butterfly Program
to continue its endeavors as the leader in hospice care.
