BOWLED OVER
The 14th Annual Empty Bowls Houston will be held Saturday, May 19,
from 11am–2pm, at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, 4848
Main St. Empty Bowls is an international effort to fight hunger, and the
Houston event benefits the Houston Food Bank. The lunch fundraiser is a col-
laboration among Houston-area ceramists, woodturners and artists working
in all media. For a minimum $25 donation, attendees receive a simple lunch
of soup and bread, and then select a bowl from the 1,500 donated to the
cause. The empty bowls serve as a reminder of all the empty bowls in our
community and the world. For more information, visit www.emptybowlshouston.org.
