FOOD | ARTS | COMMUNITY | STYLE+LEISURE Serenity Spa and Wellness Center Room Living Area beach searching for crabs and naps in between for our little one. The property was super-accommodating and allowed us to pre-arrange a perfectly situated suite with pool views, right off the beach, allowing one of the us to be on the ter- race with the baby monitor while she slept and the other parent to play with our son. Leroy, one of the staff, was always available to help with any of our needs. The condos are extremely well-appointed. We had two bedrooms with two full baths, a kitchen, living room and washer and dryer. There was daily cleaning service, and the staff was beyond kind. I traveled with raw cashew butter which the staff blended daily to make our daughter cashew milk. They refilled our glass carafe regularly so we rarely had to worry about what she would drink. They knew Pascual and Carlota by name and played, teased and tended to them daily with huge smiles. Comfort level is everything on the water, and we were comfortable with taking the kids out into the ocean on a kayak in the afternoons. The depth was accessible for the adults to jump in and swim around with the kids. We would see dolphins, stingrays, turtles and more. It was literally an exciting adventure daily that we all looked forward to. We frequented a delicious little restaurant next door called Coco Cabana and rented an hourly golf cart to make the 20-minute super-bumpy drive to “Secret Beach.” The secluded little beach was quiet in the mornings as travelers went diving; we would take the kids who felt like it was their private little beach. They could wade into the ocean and see all sorts of fish and stingrays. Queen Bed Room Our family loves changing things up when we travel and having the freedom to get to know the city/village we are staying in, along with its culture and peo- ple. We got to do just that in San Pedro. The stay was effortless and you better “Belize” it that two months later our children are STILL talking about going back to the playa. A FEW THINGS TO NOTE: – The hotel coordinates transfers for guests from Belize City to the hotel via Maya Island Air. – Golf car rental makes moving around town very easy and rental is by the hour. – If you go after rainy season, expect a lot of sea grass by the beach and take bug spray. Sea flies BITE. – And if you buy wine at one of the grocery stores, don’t get anything with a cork – it will all be corked because of the humidity.
