Believe. All. The. Hype. The daily line outside this eatery is legit and if you
call yourself a foodie, get in it. (Full disclosure: We did snag a media reservation and got to skip that line and I almost wish we didn’t – because
Hopdoddy is so good that I will have to wait in that line one day very, very
soon.)
It’s not just about the burgers here; the same care, attention to detail and deliberate thought goes into the cocktails, desserts, sides and beer. A reputation
that was cultivated in Austin in 2010 has spread to 14 locations across the
nation. Let’s talk about the burgers. The beef comes from humanely raised
cows using the freshest, all-natural ingredients available. You won’t find any
growth hormones or antibiotics in your meat, which is ground in-house every
day. The bread is perfection because it’s made from scratch in-house, all day.
The sauces you can smother your burger in or dip the fries in are all made
in-house too. The fries are on point. They aren’t your champagne and fry variety. These are the right accompaniment for a burger fry. Hand-cut from
Kennebec potatoes, yup, daily. For the non-meat eaters, La Bandita steals
the show with its black bean corn patty, avocado, goat cheese, arugula,
cilantro pesto, chipotle mayo and veggies on
