PERFECT PAIRS LA TABLE ROASTED BEET SALAD AND EVAMOR NATURAL ALKALINE ARTESIAN WATER Quite simply, refreshing! We had to get that out early in this month’s “Perfect Pair” as it perfectly describes and is really the essence of the pairing. So now we are just going to talk about the goods in that photo! Speaking of refreshing, LA TABLE (transitioning from its current name Table) on Post Oak near The Galleria is certainly one of the most refreshing French restaurants we have ever had the pleasure of dining in. Yes, we used “refreshing” to describe French food, and we mean it. The revamped menu is full of fresh, local ingredients and with the exception of a few French standards, La Table serves wonderfully refreshing, perfect food. We imagine you are thinking, a Roasted Beet salad with Blue Heron Farms goat milk yogurt and cheese, D & M blood orange infused olive oil, colorful beets, chives and freshly cracked black pepper ... refreshing? Absolutely! We could have eaten another serving, along with everything else at La Table. The menu goes perfectly well with the clean, redesigned space which is now more open with a much lighter feel. Soon, La Table’s lower level will incorporate, in addition to the swank bar, a French bakery/cafe offering coffee (Katz has created a special La Table blend that is really, really nice), pastries and light fare from 7am through the evening. You might be able to tell but we will say it anyway: We can’t recommend enough that you spend some time and money on dinner at La Table, allowing them do what they do best, serve. We all know water is refreshing, but, could it be THIS refreshing? THIS clean? EVAMOR is “naturally filtered and pure, perfected in a rare artesian aquifer that’s protected miles below the ground, right here in the USA,” half a mile below Covington, Louisiana, to get all specific. What we have here is a BPA free bottle of water high in pH (8.8-9.1) and alkalinity, and it’s naturally full of rich minerals and electrolytes, none of which have been added. This stuff is technically right out of the ground, save a little oxygen used in the bottling process. So why is this important or beneficial? Well, ultimately that’s up to you, but we all know the saying “you are what you eat” and that one that’s like “take care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live,” so, friends, in this new year why not start with an easy resolution...drink more, better water.
