(... and what to do if you do!)

Ok, now the“ worst case” scenario, you wake up on results day, get the email … and you’ ve failed one or more exams. What do you do? I’ ll talk you through the steps.
Step 1 – Panic – I was going to have this as a don’ t panic, but that’ s unavoidable, so go ahead. Panic. Cry, call your mum, check how your friends have done, go through the five stages of grief and get it all out.
Step 2 – Stop Panicking – This is where you chill out. You’ ve reached acceptance by now. This could be minutes, hours or days later, but you have time to get there. You typically have about a month or so until resits, which is lots of time. Remember that you’ re not starting from scratch. Most people who fail do so by a few percent.
Step 3 – Figuring out what you ' re weak at – The temptation at this stage is to go over topics that you already know, but all that really does is make you feel smart. Your best bet is to start covering topics that you know you struggle with. This will be difficult.
Step 4 – Use different resources – If you mainly used textbooks before then try using some Youtube( other steaming platforms are available) videos, or slideshows from society teaching etc or vice versa. Mix it up a bit and see what helps.
Step 5 – Sit the Exam and ace it- after these all there really is to do is pass the exam. And realise that this is an exam that you’ ve been preparing for your whole year( or more for finals), and all that’ s happened is you’ ve got a little bit more time to prepare than everyone else!
And that’ s it from me! Hopefully I’ ve helped a little, and please always remember you can get in touch with me at anytime by emailing academic @ lmssonline. co. uk, or just look me up on Facebook, I really don’ t mind!
