President ’ s Address
Hello there legends . How are you all ? I hope you ’ ve had a suitably fabulous first term full of joy , nights out and maybe even a bit of actual Medicine . It ’ s been a hell of an opening term for the LMSS with a myriad of events that have been nothing short of an absolute hoot .
We all just about managed to survive No Mercy November that saw the INCREDIBLE Charity and Annual Dinners and Bar Crawls . As we all descended on the Devonshire once more , Edge Lane didn ’ t know what had hit it . A huge congrats to Bryony and Will who worked tirelessly to put the events on and give everyone the nights they deserved !
Behind the scenes we ’ re still working tirelessly to keep the society going from strength to strength and ensuring that the LMSS is here for many many years to come . We ’ re working on developing relationships with alumni as well as more active fundraising and also continuing
Capstick getting his mitts on the Spirit , FINALLY ....
with our brilliant work for our chosen charities with the aim of raising quite frankly a ridiculous amount of cash .

On a personal note , I ’ ve officially started training for the London Marathon 2017 that I ’ m running in aid of the incredible Claire House Children ’ s Hospice . I ’ m the sort of person who gets out of breath wandering round to Tesco for hangover food and to be deadly honest I think I may have overestimated just how much effort running a marathon actually is ( shocking I know ). I will keep you all up to date with my gruelling training over the coming months and any money you may be able to donate to the cause would genuinely be appreciated so much . And finally , I can ’ t leave without mentioning one of the highlights of my 23 years on this Earth
which was last Friday night ; Snowcase 2016 . The quality of performances this year was truly astonishing ( apart from First Years , who refused to start until we stopped booing … not knowing we had the O2 until 2am ) and the sets were visually stunning . The 2nd and 3rd years put on two absolutely solid shows and the 4th years undoubtedly had us 5th years a bit worried for a while . But I can now graduate in peace knowing that my blooming wonderful year group won The Spirit in style . A massive congrats to Will and Sam for putting on a night I won ’ t forget any time soon .
All that ’ s left for me to say is have an absolutely incredible Christmas holiday and the very best New Year . I will see you all on Caroloke Bus Tour and then in January to kick off 2017 !
