Lauren's family, like Vanessa's, also immigrated to this country by ways of Italy and the Czech Republic. Both sides of her family were also people of the trade in textiles and woodworking. Lauren's father was an entrepreneur in computers and her mother worked in business for AT&T. Since the early 1980s Lauren was immersed in a tech-heavy household watching her dad work on computers constantly, and communicate with clients. She picked up on everything that was going on around her, also the eldest child, guided her brothers Paul and Philip. Nestled in a home of gadgets, Lauren looked for an outlet to express her creativity and found her way on early computer applications in the 80s and 90s like KidPix and PrintShop. Lauren loved photography, print design, typography, graphics, and layouts.

If you were invited to her 5th grade birthday party, she made that invite; and every year to follow. A passion for print design soon turned into interior design, as she would rearrange her room, basement and toyroom. If you asked Mrs. Kauders how many room changes Lauren went through, she couldn't keep track. Lauren loved evolving with the times and coming up with new ideas. After graduating from UMass-Amherst and entering the working world, Lauren knew it wouldn't be permanent as she had all the tools and confidence needed to become an entrepreneur like her father. Lauren formed Elle Kay Interiors, LLC in 2010. Her strengths for interior design are conceptually driven and creatively executed. Lauren prides herself on her resourcefulness, constantly staying abreast of the trends, with magazine subscriptions, trade shows, design center events and following solid blogs. By keeping all of these pieces organized, Lauren finds ways to present timeless designs that are loved by her clients. Her last noteworthy project was a commercial office space.
