JAN/FEB 2015 Benefits of a Life Coach Growing profession can help you navigate from point A to point B by Jamie Lober, Staff Writer Although life coaching is a growing profession, there remains some unfamiliarity about a life coach’s role and impact in society. “A lot of people are not aware of what a life coach is,” said Chyrl Mosley of Forward First Coaching. The job is often wrongly associated with psychologists and counselors, when in fact the life coach’s job is quite different. “It is not therapy,” Mosley said. “Clients are healthy people who just have goals or challenges in life and are looking for tools to get from point A to point B to make the future more successful.” This is what differentiates a life coach from a therapist or counselor. “A life coach helps you navigate whatever your situations are in life to get to a specific place and achieve certain goals,” said Mosley.
