Enhancing the quality of life
Autism can present with a variety of co-occurring issues . Regressive language development , digestive disorder , sleep abnormality , obsessive behaviour , anxiety , adaptive developmental disorder , and selective eating behaviours are just a few of the issues Sariah experiences with her children . In her focus to better understand the underlying causes of autism she completed training as a Holistic Health Coach , attended international congresses and educational courses on autism and reviewed numerous published studies . Through her exploration of research , therapies , nutrition and supplementation , new horizons and unexpected possibilities have evolved .
“ It`s like watching a rose starting to bloom ,” Sariah explains . “ With each layer of flower petals opening up , you gain new insights and can eventually comprehend the full extent . Questions like , What effect does the gut have on the brain ? How do neurotransmitters work ? What causes stress ? are fundamental to a holistic understanding of autism .”
The ‘ Magic ’ of Essential Oils
Sariah was quickly convinced of the quality and efficacy of dōTERRA ’ s essential oil products . She was particularly intrigued by how these multifaceted , yet simple applications could support both her eldest son , and her three other sons who later received the same autism diagnosis . She began using uplifting essential oils during the day and calming essential oils in the evening . Foot , hand and back massages soon became routine , or used spontaneously when overwhelming situations arose . Initially , the family used oils such as Lavender , Wild Orange and Frankincense . Later they added dōTERRA Peace™ , dōTERRA Adaptiv™ , Copaiba and many others .
“ I am so impressed ,” says Sariah , “ when I see how relaxed we are during and after a massage with essential oils . My ‘ nonspeaking ’ son particularly enjoys giving his family members these applications himself . He does this by carefully applying the essential oils , rubbing them gently onto the back , while softly chanting meditative melodies . These are magical moments !”
About Autism
Autism is a complex neurological diversity that affects how a person experiences and interacts with the world . The extensive range of developmental variants can range from mild to severe .
Main signs of autism may include :
• Difficulties with mutual social interaction
• Noticeable challenges in linguistic and non-verbal communication
• Specialised interests involving repetitive , stereotypical behaviours
1-2 children out of 100 are autistic ( Europe / USA ).
Despite 50 years of research , there is no generally accepted cause for autism or if it even has a cause . The very diverse expressions of autism suggest that there are no common causes that affect all autistic people equally .
