Chicken Marinade

Servings : 4 – 6
This recipe uses chicken but you can adapt to use with any protein .
Ingredients : 1 lemon , juiced 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 clove garlic , chopped 1 teaspoon salt
¼ – ½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
2 drops Lime essential oil
2 drops Black Pepper essential oil
2 – 4 boneless , skinless chicken breasts
Optional : ¼ teaspoon ground mustard
Instructions :
1 . Prepare the marinade by adding the lemon juice , olive oil , garlic , salt , pepper and Lime and Black Pepper essential oils in a large bowl or food storage container with a lid and then mix .
2 . Add the chicken to the marinade and shake to completely cover the chicken .
3 . Place in the refrigerator to marinate , occasionally shaking the container . Let the chicken marinate for at least three hours and up to 12 hours .
When you ’ re prepping for meals , don ’ t forget to consider food and essential oil safety . Avoid plastic mixing bowls or containers , and always try to use glass , ceramic , or stainless steel in order to protect and preserve your cookware . Consider whether to refrigerate or freeze what you ’ re making , depending on how long it ’ ll be before you eat it .
4 . Remove from the refrigerator 5 – 15 minutes before grilling .
5 . Grill the chicken on a medium to medium-high temperature for 5-7 minutes on each side or until cooked through .
