Lemon • Citrus limon The bright yellow rind of the lemon fruit creates a zesty essential oil that is a familiar dōTERRA favorite. Most people recognize the emotionally uplifting qualities of Lemon essential oil, and use it in diffusers around the world. Lemon is also incredibly versatile: it can be used internally, is excellent at removing sticky residue, and is a useful ingredient in both homemade cleaning products and in culinary recipes. PRIMARY BENFITS OF LEMON OIL • C  leanses the body from the inside and aids in digestion* • Elevates and promotes a positive mood • Assists with seasonal respiratory discomfort* Lemon Buttercream Cream one stick of butter in an electric mixer for 1-2 minutes until fluffy. Slowly add 3 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, until mixture is smooth. Add 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 2 drops Lemon oil and mix until combined. Add 1 tablespoon heavy cream and mix at medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes. Pairs perfectly with cupcakes or cookies. Lemon Cookies Preheat oven to 350° F. In a large bowl, cream 1 cup cold butter and 2 cups sugar for 4 minutes until light and fluffy. Add 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1½ tablespoons fresh lemon juice, and 1–2 drops L emon oil. Stir to combine. Stir in 3 cups flour, 1¼ teaspoons baking powder, ¼ teaspoon baking soda, and ½ teaspoon salt. Mix until just combined. Drop dough onto parchment paper covered baking sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes. Allow to cool. Sprinkle with sugar or frost with Lemon Buttercream. This is thanks to the expertise of family-owned orchards where lemons have been grown for generations. In an area where economic downturn had caused many Sicilian orchards to close, growers who wished to stay open found a tremendous business opportunity in providing dōTERRA with Lemon essential oil. Fruit and Veggie Cleanser Mix together 10 drops Lemon oil, ⅔ cup distilled water, and ¼ cup apple cider vinegar in an 8-ounce spray bottle. To use, shake the liquid well and spray on produce in a strainer. Let sit for 2–3 minutes and then rinse and let dry. TIP: Use empty dōTERRA spray bottles to store your homemade fruit and veggie spray. Liquid Dishwasher Soap In a large bowl, combine ½ ounce Castile soap, 3¼ cups purified water, 4 ounces white vinegar, 1 ounce citric acid powder, 1 cup kosher salt, and 30 drops Lemon oil. Stir until well blended. Pour into a glass soap dispenser. To use, add about 2 tablespoons per load of dishes. Store mixture in the refrigerator to prevent fermentation. doterra.com / 33
