Nepal After the 2015 earthquakes in Nepal, the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation ® began providing humanitarian aid and has been hard at work in the country ever since. Because Nepal has such limited access to resources, it has taken the country many years to rebuild from the devastating earthquakes. For this reason, many of the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation projects in Nepal have been focused primarily on rebuilding efforts. Clean Water Makwanpur Villagers in the Thaha Municipality, where Wintergreen is sourced, are accustomed to collecting unfiltered water from rivers, or use handcrafted pipes to direct unclean water to living areas. In 2018, the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation, with the help of the Nepalese government and CHOICE Humanitarian-Nepal, worked to install an integrated water supply system that will provide clean water to over 41,000 people in this area of Nepal, including rural communities and schools. This project is anticipated to be completed in 2019. Health Post Narayani The health post in the village of Agara served as the first point of contact for basic health services for about 9,000 people in Nepal before it was destroyed in the 2015 Nepal earthquakes. In 2018, the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation and CHOICE Humanitarian-Nepal began plans to rebuild Agara’s health post. The new two story building will be earthquake resilient, and constructed on land donated by the community. The project is expected to be completed in 2019. 58 dōTERRA HEALING HANDS FOUNDATION I ANNUAL REPORT 2018 doterrahealinghands.org 59
