dōTERRA HEALING HANDS FOUNDATION I ANNUAL REPORT 2018
The dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation ® announced a new
initiative in Albania in 2018. dōTERRA ® currently sources many oils
from Albania, including helichrysum, juniper berry, and laurel leaf
(the primary component in dōTERRA Breathe ® ).
In Albania, especially in rural areas, many public buildings, including schools, show severe
neglect due to lack of public expenditures. Bathroom facilities are the structure most often
ignored. Many schools in Albania have outdoor bathrooms or, if a school has an indoor
bathroom, it may not have running water, enough toilets, or separate facilities for boys and girls.
The dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation donated funds in 2018 for the reconstruction
of bathrooms at three schools in rural areas of Albania. The reconstruction projects not
only provide a safe and convenient location on the school campus for students to use the
bathroom, but also ensure that boys and girls have separate facilities. In the two schools
that have completed their bathroom renovations so far, Shengjergj, Tirane and Dedaj, Malesi
e Madhe, student attendance has increased significantly (particularly amongst female
students) since the beginning of the school year.
