Anti-Human Trafficking Rapha House | Aftercare With the combined goal to eradicate human trafficking, partnerships with the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation ® support an anti-trafficking model in partnership with 3Strands Global (Prevention), Rapha House (Aftercare), and Operation Underground Railroad (Rescue). 3Strands Global | Prevention After the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation announced a partnership with 3Strands Global in 2017, work immediately began to expand the PROTECT program beyond the borders of California. PROTECT provides human trafficking prevention education to students and teachers in an effort to prevent the potential exploitation of children. This is accomplished by providing information for teachers to implement in the general school curriculum for students in grades 5, 7, 9, and 11. California school districts are using the PROTECT program with measurable and objective markers of success amongst students and teachers. Thailand Art Therapy Center After announcing a partnership with Rapha House in 2017, the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation ® committed to funding an art therapy center at the Thailand Rapha House aftercare facility. The Therapy Center was funded in 2018, and provides a creative outlet for girls rescued from sex trafficking during their recovery at the Rapha House aftercare center. Cambodia Center Updates In addition to the computers, the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation supported the Rapha House aftercare facility in Cambodia in 2018 by purchasing a new vehicle to transport the girls, funding a freedom center, and providing a cover for the play area to encourage outdoor activities for the girls. Aftercare Center Computers The dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation provided funding in 2018 to equip all of the Rapha House aftercare facilities, including the upcoming Haiti aftercare campus, with computers. These computers will allow Rapha House staff to maintain connectivity and receive important updates, and serve as an important resource to the aftercare residents. In April 2018, 3Strands Global founder Ashlie Bryant met with Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes at a press conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, to announce a three-year rollout of the PROTECT program in Utah. This rollout will make the PROTECT anti-sex trafficking curriculum available to all Utah teachers, and is currently piloting in two Utah school districts: Alpine and Granite. The campus will include eight housing units, a main office, a kitchen and indoor gathering facility, a covered gazebo, a guard shack, and a wall around the campus to ensure the safety and security of the survivors. Matching Campaigns In September of 2018, dōTERRA Presidential Diamonds Kyle and Kierston Kirschbaum headed a fundraising campaign to provide a new vehicle for the upcoming Rapha House aftercare center in Haiti, of which the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation matched $15,000. The following month, Rapha House hosted a fundraising campaign on Giving Tuesday with a goal to raise $40,000, which the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation also agreed to match. The campaign exceeded expectations, raising $69,499 for aftercare of children rescued from sex trafficking all around the world. doterrahealinghands.org 35
