Microcredit Funding Mentors International The dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation® is proud to be partners with the micro-lending organization, Mentors International. Providing credit to those who would otherwise not have financing opportunities or whose only lending options are with unethical and even dangerous lenders, the microcredit fund helps lift the poor from poverty while elevating communities through economic development. Maria Pillaca Noa: Maria was first introduced to Mentors Peru by a former teacher. Her first loan was $167, and was to help her and her husband grow their furniture/upholstery business. Maria is currently saving to buy a new sewing machine that will allow her to more efficiently sew different kinds of fabric. communities through the formation of small businesses with loans managed by Mentors International. Mentors International extends loans to people of all creeds and faiths and strives to mentor clients with proven business principles to ensure prolonged success. On-going efforts continue in 2017 through our partnership with Mentors International. dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation funding has helped to establish a fully-operational, in-country microcredit lending operation in Northern Ghana. Funding has also been provided for a microcredit lending initiative in Nepal as part of a collaboration with CHOICE Humanitarian and Mentors International. dōTERRA has a Cō-Impact Sourcing® operation in Nepal for Wintergreen and Spikenard essential oils and the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation has been working on humanitarian projects there since 2015. Ana Huari: Ana currently has a business to sell disposable utensils and disposable paper products in Lima, Peru. After receiving her original loan of $90, Ana was able to expand her business and take out another loan. She currently has a loan for $800. Mentors International was founded in 1990 and works in developing countries to alleviate extreme poverty.
