Days for Girls Days for Girls East Africa and Kenya For more than 10 years, Days for Girls (DfG) International has been empowering girls everywhere by increasing access to menstrual care and education. By creating reusable feminine hygiene kits, they have reached more than a million girls and women. An important part of this effort is the Days for Girls Social Enterprise Program. These independently owned organizations bring local leadership to low- and middle-income communities around the world. They provide training to produce and sell DfG Kits and educate on women’s health, generating income, promoting sustainability, and ensuring that communities are invested in menstrual health solutions. What a Doll | Nepal Kriayt (pronounced “create”) is an organization dedicated to empowering women in Nepal with marketable skills that they can use to earn reliable incomes. The dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation ® ordered crochet dolls for Together Convention, which employed 173 Nepalese women with full-time wages for three months! All sales from the crotchet bears and dolls at convention were donated to the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation. East Africa is the site of the first Days for Girls Enterprise. The dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation ® provided support to the Days for Girls East Africa office, allowing for rapid growth. Because of this, nearly 61,000 women and girls have been helped in this area of Africa. In addition to supporting the East Africa office, the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation provided a grant in Kenya. The Kenya office is focusing on long-term program sustainability, creating partnerships with local governments and organizations. Funding from dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation made it possible for Enterprise leaders to meet, order fabric for thousands of kits, and reach more girls faster. Another dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation collaboration sent 4,000 kits to Kenya, which were distributed in 29 schools, a maternity clinic, and a women’s shelter. 52 dōTERRA HEALING HANDS FOUNDATION I ANNUAL REPORT 2019 doterrahealinghands.org 53
