Thanks to the combined efforts of the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation ® and Mentors International: $7,518,186 Funds dispersed 18,768 Loans given 12,438 Jobs created 30,687 Zawadisha | Kenya Wellness Advocate Mackenzie Banta has served as a volunteer for Zawadisha for three years. Zawadisha provides small loans that help finance the livelihoods of Kenyan women. When women living in poverty have access to renewable energy and water, they experience a dramatic increase in the quality of their lives. Money is spent on children’s school fees instead of kerosene lamps. Women use the six hours they would’ve spent walking to a river for water or to the forest for fuel wood instead on income- generating activities. Mackenzie helped raise funds, which were matched by the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation ® , to purchase 50 water tanks and provide supplies for education and training about tree planting, fruit harvesting, and garden cultivating. Thanks to Mackenzie’s efforts, Zawadisha took their program to a new area of Kenya.
