These protein balls are so easy to make, and better still taste terrific. In our house they are perfect for a quick snack to keep you going until the next meal. The dates in them provide a welcome sweetness, and are very fibre rich, and full of iron, potassium and calcium. The almonds are also full of fibre, protein and valuable nutrients. I use medjool dates as they are very soft and in my opinion, the tastiest kind, but you could use any you prefer. Do you suffer from sleep disorders or wake up tired and cranky? Are you stiff and sore? Feel like you’re 20 years older than you actually are?! By Kara Belgrove, Naturopath Ingredients Steps ◊ 2 cups of plain almonds 1. Place all the ingredients into a food processer (the nutribullet also works), and mix until it all becomes a smooth dough like ball. ◊ 1 cup of dates ◊ 2 tablespoons of blackstrap molasses ◊ 1 teaspoon of fresh minced ginger ◊ 1 teaspoon of all spice ◊ 1 teaspoon of vanilla ◊ 1/2 teaspoon sea salt ◊ Shredded coconut if you would like to roll your balls in it. 2. Take the “dough” out of the processor and using wet hands, make small balls about 2 or 3 cm round. 3. If you would like to roll them in the coconut this is the time....put some cocnut onto a piece of baking paper and roll away..... 4. Now put the balls into a sealed container to store in the fridge. Put a little baking paper between layers so they don’t stick together. 5. Last step...make sure you take at least one out into the sun with a cup of ginger tea for a well earned break. 6.
