Becoming Agent of the year is a big deal, especially at a company as big and renowned as RE / MAX Egypt, where everyone competes and strives to achieve. We speak to Mohamed Abdel-Razik, this year’ s Agent of the Year.
You have shifted careers a few times before you started working with RE / MAX Egypt. Why do you believe you’ ve stuck around with RE / MAX for so long?
I have because working in RE / MAX is not about making a salary, it’ s about the commission you get. And it is a very high commission, I have reached the stage that now my commission is 80 %. So, it is almost as if I were a partner. This job is about people who succeed and develop themselves, not the salary. If you work, you get paid well; if you don’ t, you won’ t be paid as well.
As someone who seems to crave change. How does your work with RE / MAX continue to be exciting to you?
I haven’ t changed that much. I first worked at my father’ s business, then Vodafone, then RE / MAX; so, it’ s not much. I am against changing careers too much, I prefer stability. However, RE / MAX is a very successful model in Egypt, because those who put in an effort and work hard, manage to succeed.
You’ ve won the Agent of the Year Award a few times before. How do you sustain such a great performance?
I’ ve won it once before, in 2014. And in 2015 I was in third place, and in
2016 I won first place. When I won third place last year, I was the first on transaction. I sustain my performance with discipline with my appointments with people. Also, this job
