Traditional accommodation
block bedrooms
Between 14 and 80 students live in
single study bedrooms (a mixture of
with or without a washbasin) and share
kitchens and bathrooms. Category A
rooms have fewer people sharing the
kitchens and bathrooms than
category B. All category B rooms
are in Hawthorns Hall of residence.
Flats
4 students share a flat with its own
kitchen/diner and bathroom.
Premier flats
6 students, each with their own
shower room and toilet, share
a large kitchen/diner.
Temporary shared rooms
If we have more applications than
rooms available, a small number of
students will be allocated a temporary
shared room at the start of term.
We know that there are always a few
students who either don’t arrive or who
decide that halls aren’t quite right for
them. So as soon as rooms become
available we move students out of
temporary rooms and into permanent
rooms of their own. Sharing rarely
lasts for more than 10 weeks and if
you’re allocated a temporary shared
room, you’ll only pay 50% of the room
cost whilst you share. Often we find
students remain extremely close friends
with the person they temporarily
room shared with.
Premier ensuite bedrooms
Study bedrooms with a shower
room and toilet and ¾ bed. Built like
traditional blocks rather than in flats,
8 students share a kitchen/diner.
Single occupancy flats
A self-contained flat with bedroom,
lounge/diner, kitchen and bathroom.
Campus life without the communal living!
