MJLD participate in the BPP Access to Practice Scheme
A number of members of the Merseyside Junior Lawyers Division are taking
part in the BPP Access to Practice Scheme, which is running from November
2013 until July 2014.
This is a mentoring programme run by the Careers Service at BPP in
Liverpool. Students are allocated a Solicitor/Trainee Solicitor to provide
them with an invaluable contact in the legal profession. The launch night
took place on 20th November 2013.
Laura Beswick, Managing Director, BPP Liverpool Law School, expressed
her thanks to all of the Advisers taking part in the scheme this year:
“The Access to Practice mentoring scheme is an integral part of the extra
support we give to BPP Liverpool students. It enables students to gain areal
insight into the realities of a legal career, build their confidence for
interviews and extend their networks within the local legal sector. We are
hugely grateful to all the mentors who signed up to the scheme and
particularly to the Merseyside Junior Lawyers Division who actively
promoted this event and many of their members have signed up as mentors.
The launch night on the 20th November was the opportunity for the students
and mentors to meet each other, the atmosphere on the night was fantastic
with the students asking lots of questions and the mentors providing advice
and guidance. It was a huge success and a big thank you to all our mentors
who have signed up to the scheme, their support is invaluable”.
